Valparaíso
I´ve been soaking up the sun this weekend in Valparaiso. My first night here, among a Moroccan, a New Zealand fellow, and a South African, to my relief I found that I was the only American at Hostel YoYo. I could finally spend a few nights discussing world politics and learning about African dictators. The city of Valparaiso itself is an amazing Latin American establishment right on the Pacific, with giant hills lining the coast, and colorful houses climbing up the steep inclines. Everywhere I go, Latin Reggae (not Reggaeton) and drum circles fill the air with energy. Today I´m headed to the beach after spending the past few days exploring the unplanned slanted maze of roads, checking out an old jail turned graffiti art museum, and eating a giant bowl of seafood stew in the local market.
