Rappelling
Earlier this week I trekked into the Andes, up an arid, sandy, cactus filled mountain. We were going rappelling with a group from Mendoza Inn. In harness and helmets and with a variety of ropes, I rappelled down three separate cliffs, each standing as picturesque walls of rock. It´s definitely not easy to look over the edge of a giant cliff with the rocky ground so far below. But after the initial step backwards, adrenaline kicks in and it´s exciting to think about where you are. Half way down the largest 150 ft drop, I paused so soak in my surroundings. Dangling in the air, I looked down to see the feat I was currently accomplishing, then up to assess how far I´d come. I peered out over the free flowing mountain range that I will continue following north this year. I laughed to myself and realized, "I could be trading stock options right now."

So which is easier, jumping off a 150 foot cliff attached to a rope, or jumping off a 350 foot cliff attached to a paraglider? Either way, you're having way too much fun!
