Cheers to Beckett!

Josh Beckett flirted with a no-no all night against the Tigers, until, with only four outs left, Curtis Granderson singled to right field. Over the past three outings Beckett posted a 0.40 ERA. He's finally reached mid-season form and now dominates stacked line-ups. Once Lester follows suit and regains his full game stamina, who will be able to stop the Sox?

On a side note about etiquette, who attempts a bunt to break up a no-hitter?  Gerald Laird deserved getting beaned by Beckett in the eighth. The umpires should have tossed Laird on the spot after his bunt went foul, citing "moral principles and respect for the game" as  sufficient reason for ejection.
